I was going back through the previous months entries and saw this one. I think we had this extended discussion about you possibly moving out of Colorado into Washington. I don't know what the situation is now (6 months after this post was made), but understand that in general, Washington state is quite welcoming, and as for allergies, you build up quite a tolerance after a few months of exposure.
By far, the house part is what is keeping you in the Denver area (along with some pretty good friends down there). Believe me, some things draw me to Denver, but again, job prospects up here keep me here, as my company doesn't have much in the way of opportunities in Denver.
As for moving out of country, I've taken the opinion that no one in the world is safe from stupidity, being in the Netherlands or South America is no protection against a government that's perfectly willing to kidnap and send people to detainment in Syria. This country, however, is due for a major progressive correction in the next two years.
